L6th: Work Experience arrangements are set out online. Students have registered interest in a placement tied to their chosen career sector. We will be throwing the emphasis onto students to plan their Work Experience week with help from us. There will be close monitoring of these programmes as the year progresses. Help from L6th parents would be very much appreciated in finding and offering placements or contact names.
5th Yr: Options talks and a careers review will take place this term alongside the CV Challenge.
Epoc Careers (for Law/ Medicine), Headstart/ The Smallpeice Trust (for Engineers) and Workshop: These schemes/ companies offer taster courses in subjects like Psychology, Nursing, Law, Chemistry, Medicine, Business and Management and Physiotherapy from December through the year. Universities offer the same. Well worth investigating if you want to confirm your interest or explore new avenues. Tactically important too. Prices vary from very little to a lot- obviously paying a big fat fee does not guarantee a place anywhere! Liverpool Medical Institution has a 2 day course for prospective Medics.
