You may be interested in a typical interview. The following questions were put to a prospective MEDICAL STUDENT during Half Term.

    2. What was your journey like?
    3. Tell me about yourself?
    4. What weaknesses do you have?
    5. Why do you wish to study Medicine?
    6. Do you feel you would have time to talk to patients?
    7. What Work Experience do you have?
    8. Are you interested in a particular area of Medicine?
    9. Where do you see yourself in 10 years' time?
    10. If you had a heart available for transplant, would you give it to a 10 year old boy, 23 year old mother of 2 or a 62 year old single man with a dependent relative?
    11. Are you strong enough to make important decisions?
    12. GPs are under pressure. Do you agree with drop in centres?
    13. How do the US and UK view cloning?
    14. How would you improve the NHS?
    15. Why did you choose '(Insert Uni)'?
    16. Anything extra you wish to say?
    17. Any questions?

    Remember it's HOW you respond that matters. You may not know all the correct answers but it's how you handle them. You are expected to be enthusiastic, up-to-date and reasonably knowledgeable. Your reactions and potential are being assessed. Don't talk too much or too little!!
