Do you want to know how to get ahead in the job market and how an impressive CV can be made complete?
It's a 2 word answer: 'Work Experience'
We asist with a customised week of Work Experience for our L6th students as part of their programme at Bablake. The school expects the majority of students to complete this commitment in the final week of the Summer Term, 29th June- 3rd July 2009.
Mr Woodward is now overseeing Work Experience placements for our L6th students and, to ensure smooth operation, will note preferences during the first term of the L6th. Students will be encouraged to find their own placement/ set their own programme but we need to ensure Health and Safety arrangements are satisfactory. If parents have contacts to offer, that is excellent!
We work closely with Mr Robson (our EVC) who deals with necessary risk assessments and health and safety checks for the placements.

N.B. It is imperative that students should inform Mr Woodward by email as soon as possible of any change in the details submitted. If in any doubt, call into the Careers Office or leave a written message. Where Bablake arranges a placement and it is confirmed, it is expected the student will honour it and complete all necessary administrative arrangements. We are dealing with professionals and expect students to act professionally. Bablake's good name rests on your actions!
We have suggestions for most professions and may be able to use places where previous students have completed Work Experience in the past. If some of you struggle to think of a career area, we can help but we do prefer you to be guided by your own wishes!
