UCAS Deadlines

These are the key PROVISIONAL deadlines for 2009 (or deferred entry for 2010)

2007

  • September 1st: Opening date for receiving applications
  • October 15th: Dentistry, Medicine, Oxbridge (Oxford and Cambridge) and Veterinary Medicine/ Science applications must be submitted by this date

2009

  • January 15th: Advisory closing date for all UK'/ EU applications bar Art and Design Route B (After this, applications are effectively marked as 'Late')
  • February 12th: UCAS starts to send first Route A applications to first choice universities and colleges. (Second choices are sent from 30th March and third choices from 22nd May.)
  • March 6th: Advisory closing date for Art and Design Route B applications
  • Late February: UCAS Extra begins for those who have received no offers
  • March 24th: Final closing date for Art and Design Route B applications
  • March 31st: Decisions on applications made by Jan 15th should have been received
  • May 5th: You must have chosen a Firm and Insurance by this time if you received all your decisions by March 31st
  • June 11th: Route B Art: applications after this date are held for Clearing
  • June 30th: Last chance to apply for immediate consideration. Applications after this are held for Clearing
  • August 13th: Results day!!
  • cSept 20th: Last chance to apply for 2009!

Tips!

Once really ready to apply, submit your UCAS form as early as possible
Universities may not wait til January 15th before allocating places
If you leave it too late, the best offers may have been made
