Is a Gap Year really worth taking?
Graduate recruiters like gappers who've been involved in activities outside or directly related to their academic field.
They also like applicants who have done something practical- there's a big difference between going away for a year on an extended beach holiday and spending a year volunteering.
Recruiters want people with a buzz about them, more knowledge and experience of the world and general rounding so they will be of practical use to that company.
You could earn £10,000+, gain valuable contacts, receive Uni sponsorship AND have a great time! That sounds worth doing!

Remember to keep contact with friends and family by email but be careful not to rely so much on fellow UK travellers and news of the soaps from home that you miss out on the local culture.
